Read & Publish agreement with the Bibsam Consortium renewed for a further three years
Following the success of our 2022-2024 agreement, we are delighted to have signed a further three-year Read & Publish agreement with the Bibsam Consortium in Sweden.
This agreement, which runs from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027, enables researchers at participating institutions to continue to benefit from publishing:
What authors at institutions participating in the Bibsam agreement say:
Erik Stattin, National Library of Sweden/Bibsam Consortium, Sweden
"We are delighted with the renewal of the Read & Publish agreement between The Company of Biologists and the Bibsam Consortium. The agreement means that researchers at participating institutions can continue to publish an unlimited number of Open Access articles in all five of the Company’s journals, alongside read access. The agreement also means that we continue to advance Open Science with a small, not-for-profit publisher that additionally celebrates the work of scientists, including those from Bibsam member institutions, with its biodiversity initiative, The Forest of Biologists."
"Open science is key for our collective knowledge. I find this Read & Publish agreement between The Company of Biologists and Karolinska Institutet very valuable for this endeavour. Thanks to this collaboration, our paper in Journal of Cell Science can reach a wider audience."
"In research, it is essential to have access to knowledge, and therefore to the numerous articles published in all the different fields. For this reason, I am grateful that Lund University is part of the Read & Publish agreement with The Company of Biologists, which has enabled me to publish my latest article in Biology Open in an Open Access format."
Alexander Hansson, University of Gothenburg, Sweden
"The importance of Open Access for science cannot be emphasized enough, as it increases the accessibility of our research to both the public and institutions without journal subscriptions. My institution has a Read & Publish agreement with The Company of Biologists, and opting for Open Access publication not only incurred no cost in terms of our research funds but was also very easy to apply for in their application system. Such Open Access agreements between journals and institutions are a great step forward towards making science accessible to all - researchers and readers alike."
"I think that publicly funded research should be freely available. To have our paper published Open Access free of charge, thanks to the Read & Publish initiative, was simply awesome, and it only took a few clicks to arrange."
"My co-authors and I are very grateful to publish our paper Open Access in Journal of Experimental Biology without charge as part of my institution’s Read & Publish agreement with The Company of Biologists. We are happy to know that individuals who may not have the privilege of having access to the journal via their institution will nonetheless have access to our publication free of charge."
