Corporate branding
A new brand for The Company of Biologists
Purpose
In 2015, The Company of Biologists implemented a new brand. This is far more than just a new logo. This is an initiative to help us become better known and understood and to help make the most of the value of our journals and activities.
The implementation of our new brand included new messages about our organisation and our new logo being used in our publications and our communication. Besides the new company website, we have also updated our journal sites to establish a more coherent design across all our journals.
Why have we introduced a new brand?
The Company of Biologists is an important organisation. Through our publications we give biologists an important platform to share research and developments in science. Our Meetings and Workshops give the opportunity both to network and to make connections across areas of research. Our Grants help support societies, meetings and individuals.
Whilst we do all of these things, we feel that not enough people were aware of our work and the advantages we bring to biology. The more we can make people aware of our various activities, the more support we can give to the biological community. Our new brand is helping us to increase the awareness of our work, to strengthen the link between our activities and to build value across everything we do.
The brand we have developed has been designed to better communicate what we are all about. The most visible part of it is a new logo for The Company of Biologists and new logos for our journals. But this is supported by a set of colours, a new typeface for use in marketing materials and a new set of messages which will help us to tell a consistent story. These have been designed to maximise the impact of The Company of Biologists and to better showcase what we have to offer.
