The Company of Biologists appoint SPUR Infosolutions as exclusive partner in India
4 October 2023
We are delighted to announce that we have signed an exclusive agreement with SPUR Infosolutions to represent us in India.
SPUR Infosolutions is experienced in working with librarians and in addressing the information needs of the institutional marketplace. This new partnership provides us with opportunities to increase our visibility and to expand our subscriptions and Read & Publish initiative throughout India.
Over 650 institutions in 41 countries are now participating in our Read & Publish Open Access (OA) initiative, and this is helping to drive significant growth in OA publishing in our leading peer-reviewed hybrid journals (Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology) and our fully OA journals (Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open).
“I am absolutely thrilled to announce that SPUR Infosolutions has entered into a strategic agreement with The Company of Biologists. By increasing accessibility and reach of their highly authoritative content in the field of biology, we will together be able to lend support to the needs of Indian researchers and institutions engaged in biological sciences.
The Company of Biologists’ Read & Publish initiative will undoubtedly enhance research output from India too – with institutions or researchers not having to pay additional Article Processing Charges (APCs) for publishing in any of the Company’s five peer-reviewed journals. We are pleased to support this transition towards Open Access, which augments our mission to empower research and education in the Indian sub-continent.”
“I am delighted to announce our new exclusive partnership with SPUR Infosolutions India, which will enable us to reach more customers in India and help them to benefit from our Read & Publish agreements.
We have seen a significant increase in interest for our Read & Publish initiative in India over the past year and believe that working with SPUR Infosolutions will help to demonstrate the benefits of our Read & Publish offer even further. SPUR’s presence in the region and its existing relationships with universities and libraries will be invaluable in helping us to reach new customers and spread the word about our high-quality content.
We look forward to collaborating with SPUR Infosolutions to support the library and research community in India.”
