Online-only subscriptions to Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology are available to institutions.
We have a 5-tier pricing model for institutional subscriptions.
- 2025 pricing for tiers 1-4 is available here.
- Pricing for Tier 5 institutions and library consortia is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Subscriptions are available on a calendar year basis (January – December).

We are committed to ensuring that our customers do not pay twice for access to Open Access content via article processing charges (APCs) and subscription fees.
COUNTER5 usage reports
Our journals are fully cross-searchable and librarians can manage all their subscriptions, and download usage statistics, from a central admin dashboard.
The full range of COUNTER5 usage reports from April 2021 can be downloaded by library administrators who are logged into the Silverchair admin dashboard.
